Boston Firefighters Local 718 Death and Welfare Fund Scholarships

  • General Endowment Scholarships Wentworth -with a special section for the Lt. Kelley Scholarship download applications

  • Candidates for the Lieutenant Kevin M. Kelley Memorial Scholarship must be a full – time undergraduate student entering their first, second, third or fourth year at Wentworth Institute of Technology. Candidates must be good academic standing at either Wentworth Institute of Technology or their graduating high school. Preference will be given to eligible recipients in the following order: the son or daughter of a member of Boston Fire Fighters Local 718; a son or daughter of a member of the Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts; any worthy or deserving student or prospective student as determined by the Office of Financial Aid. The scholarship may be renewed in succeeding years, if no other student meets the above criteria, as long as the student maintains good academic standing and continues to have financial need as determined under policies of the institute.

  • Local 718 Road Race -Applications may be obtain at Local 718 union office. Winners are drawn by lottery at the May 2010 union meeting. There will be (3) scholarship awards valued at $1000. each.

    Local 718 Scholarships

    Exam to be held May 1, 2010 at 8:00.

    Scholarship application should include administrative fee $25.00 made out to D/W Scholarship Exam.

    Application are also available at union office.
  • Open to only sons and daughters, including adopted children, and children who are under legal guardianship, of active members of Local 718, and members of Local 718 who died or retired from the Boston Fire Department.
    The exam is non-sectarian, and open to all children completing the eight grade this 2009 year.
    Applications may be picked up at Florian Hall or downloaded here.
